Practicing yoga & mindfulness has helped Moira gain more self-acceptance and self-love throughout her life by transforming self sabotage, self doubt, addictions, unhealthy eating, relationship issues, and a inability to focus on oneself into recovering from past trauma, coping with anxiety, creating healthier habits and achieving inner peace by strengthening her confidence and the way that she interacts with others. Moira is compassionate and trauma-informed in her life and she is continually learning new ways to facilitate a shared authentic experience for trauma survivors to share yoga forms and mindfulness. Her hope is that other survivors will also find self-acceptance and self-love with their own yoga practice, that they could feel more empowered in and with their bodies and ultimately in their lives.
Moira enjoys playing with her dog, being in nature and honoring her inner child with aerial yoga, yoga trapeze, fat-tire biking, singing & volunteering in her community.
Moira graduated from Michael's School of Hair Design & Esthetics in 1998. Her hairstyling career began in Atlanta, GA at an Aveda Concept Salon. Her expertise in hair styling landed her numerous print projects and famous clients. Moira has been featured in leading magazines, such as Lucky Magazine and Teen Magazine. Over time, Moira became extremely sensitive to ammoniated hair color and products containing synthetic chemicals. She decided to make a healthier choice for herself and for her customers. In 2007, after educating herself on the dangers of fragrance chemicals; she began using color free of ammonia and products free of toxic fragrance chemicals. Moira realized truly healthy hair and skincare products are hard to find. You must read labels. Fragrance chemicals are in many products, 95% of chemicals in fragrances are synthetic compounds derived from petroleum. Your skin, your body's largest organ, absorbs these chemicals by direct application and by exposure to air containing fragrances. These synthetics may cause neurological, respiratory, hormone-disrupting, systemic and environmental effects.
Moira has always loved being a Hairstylist and is delighted to help others feel more confident.

You shampoo because hair collects oil. That means it can collect petroleum oil spills too. Over 300,000 pounds of hair are cut each day in the US and not to mention all the clippings from pet groomers.

By “extended family” we mean an aunt, uncle, in-law, stepparent, cousin, friend of the family, teacher, coach, another child, clergy or anyone that that betrayed the child’s trust. The only requirement for membership is that you are a victim of child sexual abuse, and you want to recover. There are no dues or fees in our meetings. If you feel that you belong, we believe you.
