Meet Moira

Eco-friendly Master Hairstylist | Organic Color Specialist | RYT-500 Yoga Instructor | Aerial Yoga & Yoga Trapeze Instructor | Licensed Health Insurance & Medicare Producer

Moira is a wellness-centered practitioner working at the intersection of beauty, movement, nervous system awareness, and holistic self-care. She is the founder of Earthly Roots Hair Studio, where she provides eco-friendly hair services as a Master Hairstylist and Organic Color Specialist. She is also a RYT-500 yoga instructor, certified aerial yoga and yoga trapeze teacher, and a trauma-sensitive movement facilitator trained through the Trauma Center Trauma-Sensitive Yoga (TCTSY) framework.

With over two decades of experience in the beauty industry and a parallel path in yoga and embodied movement, Moira’s work is rooted in helping people feel more at home in their bodies—physically, emotionally, and energetically. Her approach to hair care developed from personal and client sensitivities to conventional products, leading her in 2007 to fully transition into ammonia free hair color and non-toxic, fragrance-free, and environmentally conscious formulations. She continues to be committed to transparency in ingredients and supporting clients in making informed choices about their health and well-being. She believes that understanding product ingredients is essential, as many conventional products contain hidden synthetic compounds labeled as “fragrance” or “perfume”.

Her early career began in Atlanta, where her work expanded into editorial and print features in Lucky Magazine and Teen Magazine.

In her yoga and movement teaching, Moira blends Hatha yoga, aerial yoga, yoga trapeze, and trauma-sensitive principles to support strength, mobility, confidence, and nervous system regulation.

Moira is also a certified Reiki Level I and II practitioner and a licensed health insurance and Medicare producer, offering additional layers of support for clients navigating both personal wellness and practical healthcare decisions.

Across all her work, Moira brings a grounded, compassionate presence and a belief that true wellness is not one-dimensional—it includes how we move, how we care for our bodies, how we feel in our environment, and how supported we are in life’s practical systems.

Life Outside the Studio

Moira enjoys spending time in nature with her partner, practicing aerial yoga and yoga trapeze, fat-tire biking, singing, volunteering in the community, and playing with her dog.

At Earthly Roots Hair Studio, all hair clippings are donated to Matter of Trust, a nonprofit that uses recycled hair to help clean up oil spills.

Hair naturally absorbs oil, making it an effective tool for environmental cleanup. Each day, hundreds of thousands of pounds of hair are discarded in the U.S.—but through this program, that waste can be repurposed to support sustainability efforts.
