Q & A
Can I still take part in other fitness activities?
Of course. Always listen to your body, and if you think you’re overdoing it, please take a rest day.
What is a yoga class like?
Whether you’re signing up for a yoga (mat based) class or a yoga trapeze class, each class is designed for you. A session begins with centering & focusing on the breath, then warm-ups, moving to standing poses, cooling down, relaxation & meditation.
What equipment do I need?
A yoga mat. comfortable clothes that allow you to move and some water. A strap/belt and blocks can be useful, but are not necessary. Internet access to a computer/tablet/phone that has a camera. Download the zoom app prior to class start time. For the Deep Dive course, you will need notebooks for journaling. For the yoga trapeze class you will need the yoga trapeze (hardware already installed/mounted).
Am I too young/old?
Never! You can reach your goals at any age. Take advantage of modifications and set a chair on your mat up against the wall. If you’re concerned, please speak with your doctor before signing up. You must be 18 years or over to purchase, so if you're under 18 check with your parents or guardian first.
I have a medical condition/injured/pregnant/breastfeeding. Can I still sign up?
If you’re pregnant, diabetic, have a medical condition, an injury or a physical disability, consult with your doctor or healthcare provider before signing up.
Can beginners attend classes?
Beginners are welcome! Pace yourself and trust your own body. In time you’ll find that you are stronger, more flexible and able to do more in your practice.
Will class be challenging for me?
Yes, listen to your body and take the class at your own pace. Your first classes may be challenging and you may experience soreness. This is normal when trying something new and it won’t last long.
What if I’ve never done yoga? Or I can’t touch my toes?
You don’t need to be physically flexible or strong. You just need to be open and willing. Focus on breathing, moving and respecting where you are in your practice. The more you practice the more you come into balance physically, emotionally and spiritually. The more tension will release and your range of motion will naturally increase.
What style of yoga is this?
Hatha Flow takes postures and links them with strength-building fluid movement, creating an expressive and transformative physical practice.
With Trauma-Informed Yoga we can build on physical forms and movements with a focus on the internal experience of the participant. Using interoception and choice to guide us through yoga forms in our own way and in our own time.
Yoga Trapeze can help relieve back pain, increase strength: grip, posterior chain, core, develop flexibility, restore balance and improve overall fitness.
How often should I practice?
The more you practice, the more you will see results. For life-changing results, practice 4-6 times per week, but even a regular practice of 2-3 times per week will bring a deep transformation over time.
